Information About Carlingford
Carlingford was the 2008 winner of the European Destinations of Excellence Award.Carlingford is a Medieval Town in the North of Co. Louth along the East coast of Ireland. It is situated midway between Dublin and Belfast. Carlingford is the ideal location for weekend breaks or short breaks. It has much to offer the visitor, from hill walking, sailing, golf and an adventure centre. Carlingford has many great restaurants and bars one of which is The Carlingford Arms.It also has beautiful medieval buildings including King John's Castle, Carlingford Abbey, Taaffes castle and the Mint. Carlingford is also one of the central villages on the Tain trail.
